Types of Treadmills
You’ve decided to buy a
treadmill, but when you get to the department store you can’t
believe the selection they
have. How do you
choose the right one? With so many types of treadmills to
choose from, it can be a very difficult
process.
There are a couple of different types of treadmills
available. You can choose between a manual treadmill and an
electronic treadmill. A motorized or electronic treadmill’s
belt is powered by an electric motor. If you get a manual
treadmill, then you power the belt with your footsteps. If you
are looking for cheaper, then you might want to pick a manual
treadmill. If at all possible, you want to look into getting a
motorized treadmill. You will be able to get the most from your
workout with it and you can set it to a constant speed.
You can use the speed and the timing settings in order to
figure out how many calories you have burned. If you get a
manual treadmill, it will only speed up or slow down if you do,
making it harder to get a steady workout. Manual treadmills can
also put more strain on your knees and hip joints. An
electronic treadmill is the way to go if you are truly serious
about getting fit.
If you don’t have a lot of space, then you might want to
consider a collapsible treadmill. It will store away until you
need it again and you get to keep your space. These also tend
to be cheaper. Whichever treadmill you decide to take, make
sure it has at least 1.75 to 2 horsepower for continuous
duty.
There are numerous types of treadmills out there. Watch for
quality, but look for a good price, too. Purchasing a treadmill
is just the first step to your fitness goals.
