What is the Multiple Sclerosis Walk about?
Each year the MS Society
organizes a Multiple Sclerosis walk. This walk takes place in
many cities in different areas of North America. The
Multiple Sclerosis walk is intended to raise money for research
and to fund different services offered by the MS Society.
Thousands of people take part in the MS
walk, raising money and walking in an attempt to help find a
cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
Who can take part in the Multiple Sclerosis Walk? The answer
is simple – anyone. Many people with Multiple Sclerosis
participate in the MS walk either on foot, in a wheelchair or
on a scooter. Hundreds of family and friends of people with MS
take part in the Multiple Sclerosis walk. The MS walk is a true
reflection of the amount of concern in North America for people
who live with Multiple Sclerosis.
The Multiple Sclerosis walk usually happens in the spring of
every year, normally around the month of May. The television,
local newspapers and magazines all advertise the Multiple
Sclerosis walk. In their advertisements they provide contact
information, as well as event information such as when and
where a Multiple Sclerosis walk is taking place. If you or
someone you know would like to take part, in the annual
Multiple Sclerosis walk, you can get information on the
Internet from the Multiple Sclerosis Society. They will mail
you pledge sheets along with event information. You can also
set up an account online where you can collect online pledges.
You never know when someone you know or maybe even yourself
will be affected by MS. Even if you or someone you know, do not
have Multiple Sclerosis, you are welcome to take part in the MS
walk. You can be certain that those who are affected by MS will
be very thankful you did participate in the Multiple Sclerosis
walk.
