Do You Know The
Secret
of A Fulfilled
Life?
by Patricia
Wagner
What
would your
dream be of a
perfect life?
Would it be
to have lots of
money? A great
job? A
prominent
position in
society? Super
health? A great
marriage? The
opportunity to
be what you've
always wanted
to be?
Would you
feel fulfilled
if you had all
these
things?
I'm going to
suggest to you
that even if
you had all
these things
going for you,
you would
probably not be
satisfied.
There's one
thing that none
of these
benefits would
give you. And
that is peace
of heart and
mind.
You could be
rich and
famous, but
have inner
turmoil of
mind. Elvis
Presley was
highly
successful and
had everything
going for him
as far as the
world sees
things, but he
died a broken
man. Many of
today's stars
and celebrities
medicate
themselves with
alcohol and
drugs to escape
their inner
torments. But
there is a much
better way to
obtain peace of
mind and
heart.
There is a
deep inward
feeling of
emptiness when
we are not
filled with the
presence of
God. Our
relationship
with God has
been broken
because of sin.
That's why
Jesus came into
this world to
die for us and
to rise again
from the dead.
He alone can
restore our
friendship with
God through His
salvation - the
forgiveness of
our sins and
new life in
Him! When Jesus
lives within us
and lives
through us we
do experience
deep inner
contentment and
peace.
Here are
some precious
promises from
God's Word
telling us how
to have
peace:
- Isaiah
26:3 - Thou
wilt keep
him in
perfect
peace,
whose mind
is stayed
on thee:
because he
trusteth in
thee.
- Isaiah
53:5 - But
he was
wounded for
our
transgressions,
he was
bruised for
our
iniquities:
the
chastisement
of our
peace was
upon him;
and with
his stripes
we are
healed.
- John
14:27 -
Peace I
leave with
you, my
peace I
give unto
you: not as
the world
giveth,
give I unto
you. Let
not your
heart be
troubled,
neither let
it be
afraid.
- John
16:33 -
These
things I
have spoken
unto you,
that in me
ye might
have peace.
In the
world ye
shall have
tribulation:
but be of
good cheer;
I have
overcome
the
world.
-
Colossians
1:20 - And,
having made
peace
through the
blood of
his cross,
by him to
reconcile
all things
unto
himself; by
him, I say,
whether
they be
things in
earth, or
things in
heaven.
-
Colossians
3:15 - And
let the
peace of
God rule in
your
hearts, to
the which
also ye are
called in
one body;
and be ye
thankful.
