Natural Ways to Cleanse
Your Colon
Natural colon cleansing is a
process that has the intent to result in a clean bowel.
To cleanse the bowel naturally is a process that includes some
fasting in combination with some supplements and a parasite
cleanse. Most colon cleansing supplements include herbs that
kill parasites and worms. They are
also known to contain digestive enzymes and probiotics which
have the intent of stimulating the liver, gallbladder, and the
intestines.
Until recently dietary fiber has been greatly underestimated,
not only in relation to cholesterol levels but bowel disorders
as well. Insoluble fiber provides bulk in the large intestine
and encourages bowel movements. Psyllium is a natural,
water-soluble, gel-reducing fiber which is extracted from the
husks of blond Psyllium seeds. Psyllium is part of the soluble
fiber family which is also called mucilage’s. This is why
Psyllium is very often used in the colon cleansing process
because it swells and forms a thick gel when exposed to water
which in turn allows a more consistent flow through the bowel
area. Psyllium also provides a benefit by assisting in ridding
toxins from the colon.
Normally, a natural colon cleanse would consist of either a
diet that consists only of raw vegetables, raw fruits, water,
and juice or some people prefer to fast. In addition,
probiotics, flax seeds, bentonite clay, and salt water enemas.
Bentonite is a form of clay that acts like a laxative and also
removes toxins and parasites from the colon. Flax seeds absorb
water and then expand in the colon. This further permits toxins
and such to be removed from the colon as well.
What is recommended by most herbalists for a person who wants
to cleanse their colon naturally is to take one tablespoon and
one tablespoon of flax seed mixed with water first thing in the
morning and again before bed. Never eat anything for at least a
half an hour after ingesting these herbs. Plenty of water needs
to be drunk during the whole procedure. Make sure that you take
nothing else at the very same time when taking these herbs so
you can avoid any possible complications. Remember that these
herbal supplements are only used in part of the colon cleansing
process in conjunction with the proper diet.
